My background
I am a California girl, born and raised. My parents are Texans and I have written many stories about our summer driving vacations to Texas.

I came to writing late in life after many other careers. One of them was teaching. I spent a lot of time developing writng lessons and loved it! My students kept commenting on what a "good" writer I was. After a while, I gifted myself the time to explore writing, took a leave of absence to study, and never went back to full-time teaching. Twenty years later, I am the published author of two novels, and various short stories and run a successful creative writing business.

Where I Write
I do my best writing in a good coffee shop. It has to have a nice seating area, an interesting menu, and plenty of outlets! A lot of people ask if the noise and comings and goings of people bother me, but it never does. I do write at home, but find myself needing to get away from the call of household stuff like laundry, dirty dishes, and the TV.
